If you have suffered from a sudden death, it is not the job of the Emergency Services to clean up any blood, vomit, faeces, urine or other bodily fluids from the scene.

The cleaning of a Trauma Site through unattended death or accident should only be handled by a trained professional cleaning contractor. The bodily fluids related to a death can be dangerous hot spots for biohazard contamination and should be dealt with extremely carefully.

When you employ Balmore Contracting to provide any required after death trauma cleaning services, our team will be dispatched to your location as soon as possible. Whether it be a residential home, office or industrial facility.

Please read through this check list below to ensure your own safety and avoid any potential biohazard infections.

Your Personal Safety

Biohazards can be found in blood, vomit, faeces, urine and other bodily fluid. They can contain pathogens, viruses and bacteria which can be a serious health hazard. You should avoid any areas that have been contaminated until they are properly cleaned by our trained crew.

Waiting for Approval

When there has been a death due to suspicious circumstances or the trauma site is a crime scene, you must firstly call the Police and wait for their clearance/approval before we can access a trauma cleaning site. The deceased must first be cleared and taken away by ambulance before we can proceed with our after death cleaning.

Locking things down

We would advise that you isolate the scene. Please close any windows and doors into the affected location to stop airborne contamination and decomposing smells from spreading through the building. Bodily Fluids such as faeces can quickly attract flies and other insects which can lead to further problems.
